What should I tell my orthodontist to not mess me up before getting braces , im a little bit scared

if ur trying to fix an overbite and hes using elastics tell him to move the mandible forward instead of pushing the maxilla back, even if he pushes your maxilla back it wont mess you up but it'd be better to get your mandible move foward for more forward growth obv, also if u want try to get a palate expander before ur braces
