I had BSSO + Sliding Horizontal Genio with a few degrees of upward rotation. Genio advancement was 5mm. BSSO advanced left side by 8mm and right side by 6mm. It's been 29 days. And I'm seriously regretting the Genio. I think it's made me too masculine and the chin too prominent. Not that masculinity was a bad thing but I used to fall in the pretty boy archetype. Like ppl would always say this guy is really cute and shit. Yk like high trust shit. I was intially supposed to only get a BSSO but I showed my surgeon some of the pictures of the results I wanted and he said for this you'll need the Genio too. But could the prominence be because of swelling? Like for example I have a cleft chin and right now it barely has a dent in it. Is it over and botched or should I wait before I KMS

How did they do cww rotation if the upper maxilla wasn't moved at all?, was your bite bad before?, because this would fuck up your bite badly if you only do BSSO without any upper maxillary movement.

Yes swelling can obscure it for some time. Within reason.

No my maxilla is properly forward grown. Only had a mandible recession and deviation. Hence why the different advancement on either sides. My Ortho was saying I don't need a Genio but my surgeon said for the results I wanted, I needed the Genio. He only moved the chin horizontally by 5mm and rotated it upwards some degrees. The upward rotation was suggested by my Ortho after I told him I wanted a Genio too.

Yeah but what i've meant is how he did cww rotation only on the jaw, how didn't it mess up your bite though?

Can't send a PM. But ill try to explain. From the side, imo it looks uncanny but that could be because of the swelling of the chin. If I press the chin, it still hurts a little and I do think that there is still swelling. My friend (he's really brain rotted and well versed in the art of black pill) says it's fine and looks quite masculine from the side. From the front, I'd say it's fine but the definition I had before the surgery is definitely lost. I hope that's from the swelling. Also, my zygos are high set and very prominent and I had hollow cheeks before surgery but now they're gone. Some hollowness still exists on the right side but the left has very little. In short, is this all because of the swelling (29 days). Should I wait another 2 months before declaring it to be over and botched? Because alot of sources online say it takes 3 months for 80% healing and final results are seen after 6 months or

I can't tell you if the chin will deswell to something acceptable without seeing photos and anyone who claims to tell you otherwise sans photos is talking out of their ass. On that point you will find ZERO useful answers here.

With regards to the hollowness yes you are still very swollen. I don't know the statistics for BSSO and Genio alone but for DJS, latest research suggests on average you retain ~20% of swelling at 6 months and ~10% of swelling at one year. If you know what 100% swelling looked like just a few days postop, you will know that even 10% is nothing negligible. People get buccal fat removal to get the same angularity gains that you get from deswelling something like 15-30%.

No no, ik him irl. He's seen me so yeah. But other than that, I was severely swollen post op. I looked like jabba the hut, not even joking. So you're right even 10% is quite significant. You gave me a lot hope dawg. Thanks
