INTRO:
For those who don't know, in addition to a gender & race pay gap, there's also an attractiveness and height pay gap. Since elections have been televised, most US presidents have been over 6 foot, even when the national average was much lower in the past.
Studies done by academic & independent sources such as Forbes & Financial Post show than attractive employees are more likely to be hired, promoted and paid more (10-12% more according to FP or 15% more according to Forbes) at every stage of their corporate career than their less attractive counterparts.
This discrepancy is even greater in careers that leverages a person's physical appearance, from obvious industries such as fashion and media to politics, sales and marketing.
ASSUMPTIONS:
We'll use conservative estimates to calculate the economic ROI of looksmax's favorite surgeries in a simple manner, as a thought experiment to get autists here to think beyond slaying.
Lifetime Earnings: $678,600 (Pre-Tax, 40h Workweek @ Minimum Wage in the US, 45 Years (Age 20-65)
Increase In Lifetime Earnings: 10% ($67,860)
Other Monetary & Non-Monetary Benefits (Not Assigning a $ Figure):
- More likely to be hired after an interview
- More likely to get promoted/experience quicker promotions
- More likely to land clients/make sales
- More "slaying"
- More likely to marry a higher-tier (looks & pedigree) partner
- Potentially now meets the looks standard to model/act
Cost of Surgeries: $7,500 (Rhinoplasty) + $3,000 (Palatal Expansion) + $8,000 (Hair
Transplant) = $19,500 (At Age 20)
CALCULATIONS:
Cost: $19,500 at Age 20
Normalized Equivalent Cost: $175,207 at Age 65 (Assuming 5% Post-Inflation CAGR In Opportunity Cost/Investment Returns)
Benefit: $67,860 Distributed from Age 20-45
Normalized Equivalent Benefit: $253,099 at Age 65 (Assuming 5% Post-Inflation CAGR In Opportunity Cost/Investment Returns)
CONCLUSION:
The financial ROI of looksmaxxing surgeries in this simple calculation that doesn't account for other benefits apart from raw increased earning potential is only a difference of $77,892 in today's dollars at age 65.
I'm too lazy at this point to point out why that's an insanely small price to pay for increased QoL, sexual & corporate success AND how I made the calculations super conservative so assuming you make even like 20% more than minimum wage your whole life (and if inflation is more than 0% from the time your age 20 to 65), the real ROI will be in the stratosphere, even before taking into account your increased success rate in landing job offers & promotions.
DISCLAIMER: this ROI thought process only works if you're already low MTN at worst and ascend to HTN+, you will NOT see significantly more financial success if you ascend from subhuman to low LTN for instance
