Caloric deficits during puberty

Im aware that optimally you should be eating your maintenace calories and above during puberty, however im tired of these fucking love handles. Is there any guranteed approach I can take to this to ensure I max out development and still get to be a shredded sikkunt? I'm currently 17 and you can make the argument that I should eat well till 25 to max "everything" out, but its ridiculous to wait that long. Need some pointers, thanks.

it doesnt matter (aslong ur not only eating 500 calories a day)

Eat at maintenance and work out to build your muscles, However if you are obese or a little overweight you should start cutting to lose the extra weight and become more lean, there are calculators online to check if ur overweight or underweight. Eating more than you require wont increase height growth by any significant amount at all, but when u start eating below it u start to stunt your growth.
