Can braces and elastics recess you

Ight idk if I’m tripping or not but I’ve had Damon braces and elastics for 5 months and I swear it’s cause a recession my orbital vector looks so much more negative than it was before or do you think it was just soft tissue changes or am I just straight up trippin

unless you're already recessed or teeth have been extracted braces should not recess you normally. in some casesthey might pull the mandible back. + an extra is that damon braces broaden your dental arch giving the illusion of a wider palate
