U cannot reduce soft tissu

It's physically impossible to reduce soft tissu by adding hard tissu (bone) support

But if your upper lip is thin u can get support for the lip which will make illusion of reduced midface

Better lip support can also make the midface appear shorter. Not an answer but see this thread for a result where that happened.
That picture though... I look like the preOP, with the nostril show and all. In the after, his alae seem to have gone up. And his mouth is bigger. What the fuck. This is exactly what I need. He looks like he's smiling in the frontal after, but I can't tell. Your thread mentions a modified Lefort1?

Yes, I need that shit. Also, you commented on a modified lefort1 in coolguy's thread he posted, but I can't read french. What kind of a modification is it?

It can reduce the midface length but not significantly.

A lefort 1 advancement affects the upper lip as follows: 1mm forward movement of the maxilla results in 0.75mm forward movement and 0.25mm upward movement GENERALLY. In the individual case, the numbers can vary drastically.

Other than that a CCW Bimax can make your midface APPEAR shorter when you get a genioplasty to make your chin taller, so that the midface appears shorter in relation.

Unless your father was a fucking horse, a long midface will not be significant enough to make an improvement impossible.

what if you have the opposite problem of an overly compact midface?

should I ask my surgeon to decrease the lefort 1 advancement then

So does the soft tissue sag with the vertically shortened fsce(bones) or does the advancement/genio stretch the soft tissue out and make you look leaner and more supported?
