I wanna eat a burgerEvan burger
I wanna eat Taylor’s hill assI wanna eat a burger
personally i would appeal to economics and the larger society. What if someone says killing is good in his opinion?
ask epsteinTitle
Shes kinda flat but sameI wanna eat Taylor’s hill ass
Hmm…Shes kinda flat but same
if an emotion is forced on you from hormones can you even call it a moralSome morals are objective in nature like motherly instinct, friendship. Other than that it's highly subjective
It's two sides of the same coin; both are opinions about fundamental truths that can be proved false by our sense of logic and sense of moralityU can’t compare an observable mathematic truth to a mind based opinion of an action such as killing. It’s a fallacy
I wanna eat a burger
Appealing to economy and society (economy man made, society =subjective minds) to prove to me killing is bad won’t do it.personally i would appeal to economics and the larger society.
lets say for sake of argument satan exists beyond disbelief and once we die we all go to hell and suffer
lets say person A takes note of this and decides he is going to indulge in every depraved and anti social act ever since hes already going to hell anyway
the victims of person A say to themselves since we as humans rely on each other for survival etc. person A does nothing to help us and our world spiritual and material tends towards evil let us here on earth make a place of good. (good being eating living and indulging in non harmful desires )
ive more or less appealed to hedonism but you get the point
God makes objectivity, God made logicBut god is a subject himself, he has a mind. If morality is what he desires than it’s not truly objective in a cosmic sense
Math isn’t an opinion. It’s part of the observable laws of physics. Prove logically that killing is “bad”.It's two sides of the same coin; both are opinions about fundamental truths that can be proved false by our sense of logic and sense of morality
If god made logic that means he can break logic, cuz at one point logic didn’t exist. Ask him to make a square circle, can he do it?God makes objectivity, God made logic
He is the beginning of all
Don't forget that
He's greater than cosmos, he by definition made it
He can bring matter into nothing and nothing into matterIf god made logic that means he can break logic, cuz at one point logic didn’t exist. Ask him to make a square circle, can he do it?
If god is a mind, than morals can’t be objective. A mind is a subject. Now if god is not a sentient being, if he is pre determined, than morals could be objective but that would mean he’s/it’s not omnipotent and omniscience and he also has a creatorHe can bring matter into nothing and nothing into matter
It wouldn't make sense (probably) for him to change it by now, though. He could've premade everything he needs already
That'd be more just
well i guess we'd have to say that certain animals are evil and that we rational moral actors would have to step in and stop them. But id say evil animal actions result in animals being punish more for their actions. Such as animal A eating their offspring and then dying to a bigger animal resulting in them not carrying their ''evil'' gene. But you'd have to say living is good or atleast ammoralI mean than just animals behavior would be enough to shut this down. Or than they would have to say that this different cosmic morality in place for every different specie. That would be stupid especially cuz atheists believe in evolution
His mind is transcendent, he decides what is what, he makes things into truth or lieIf god is a mind, than morals can’t be objective. A mind is a subject. Now if god is not a sentient being, if he is pre determined, than morals could be objective but that would mean he’s/it’s not omnipotent and omniscience and he also has a creator
Appealing to economy and society (economy man made, society =subjective minds) to prove to me killing is bad won’t do it.
this is not really a natural "ability"Animals are fundamentally different from humans; humans possess an advanced form of consciousness that allows us to reason in abstract terms and ponder the future, rather than responding to environmental stimuli as do most mammals
this is not really a natural "ability"
the only actions you have to premeditate are all within the system, and really you only have to do that with actions that will bring legal consequence or make you fail/get set back in the system, i can't think of anything else
in nature you are not brainwashed by language or religion and you just do what you need for you and your tribe to survive and thrive and what's most effective. you don't give a fuck about the future (aka your imagination) only the now
define rational and reasonablein short we weren't rational or reasonable ?
But they are not objective in a cosmic senseHis mind is transcendent, he decides what is what, he makes things into truth or lie
He creates objective rules for us humans
accurate and mostly unbaised decision making based on certain sets of principles of validitydefine rational and reasonable
yes if that means the principles "of validity" (whatever the fuck that means) are manmadeaccurate and mostly unbaised decision making based on certain sets of principles of validity
goatisbrainedyes if that means the principles "of validity" (whatever the fuck that means) are manmade
humans naturally follow their intuition which IS logical
the argument? where is it?goatisbrained
humans are reason and pattern orientated. We do not follow our intuition thats a lie. When you get in a car you dont drive it because you feel its safe because you know that the regulation rules, quality checks etc. You dont turn on your guessing whether or not your engines about to explodethe argument? where is it?
youre proving me right. there is no car to drive in nature.humans are reason and pattern orientated. We do not follow our intuition thats a lie. When you get in a car you dont drive it because you feel its safe because you know that the regulation rules, quality checks etc. You dont turn on your guessing whether or not your engines about to explode
there is other whys we wouldnt have invented ityoure proving me right. there is no car to drive in nature.
"cars exist in nature"there is other whys we wouldnt have invented it
i mean objective morality already exists in a sense, everyone does everything for what they think is the most beneficial to them, the only thing that differs is their opinions what benefits them the mostTitle
so the objectivity is in the subjectivity?i mean objective morality already exists in a sense, everyone does everything for what they think is the most beneficial to them, the only thing that differs is their opinions what benefits them the most
noTitle
kindaso the objectivity is in the subjectivity?

Definitely some are some aren’tTitle
Definitely some are some aren’t
Simple as tbat
there is no basis for your belief that killing is bad in a worldview without GodI can say that I believe 2+2=5, that doesn't make it true
God makes the rules so it is objectiveMaybe I already responded but even with a god there is no objectivity
but than the rules are his desires, thus making them not objectiveGod makes the rules so it is objective
