My mid face is sort long compared to my other thirds and I was thinking if i get a simple braces+rphg if it can assist my thirds

No. RPE expands maxilla laterally and often downward (increasing vertical height 1-3 mm via rotation), making midface appear longer, not shorter. Braces don't change skeletal vertical dimension. No shortening effect in adults.

Most likely make it longer unless you get one with an upward/counter clockwise rotational vector (unlikely to get that prescribed) but it's debated if that even does anything bc how would it move bone up into bone? (THIS ISNT MEDICAL ADVICE CONSULT A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL)

In my case, I do have a narrow smile could palate expansion be beneficial? considering a long midface?

First off take a non sense distorted photo 15 plus ft away with the camera dead center not above below your head and smile and take a standard photo. then if you do actually have narrow palate and long mid face bone borne expanders mogg tooth borne expanders (this isn't medical advice consult a licensed professional)

Yes, palate expansion (MARPE preferred at 18) benefits narrow smile by widening arch, improving tooth alignment, fuller smile aesthetics, and better nasal breathing.
For long midface: Widening subtly enhances midface fullness/balance (e.g., wider cheekbones, less narrow appearance), but often increases vertical height slightly (1-3 mm downward maxillary rotation), which may not shorten it—could make ratio worse in some cases.
