Can someone explain this?

I am 18 ( 19 in few months) I have been living a shit lifestyle not eating enough protein, not sleeping enough literally everything you can imagine of doing in your teenage until a month ago I stopped wasting my life and started gym, 150 g protein daily, enough sleep and my height increased around 2 CM. I haven't measured it but I feel like a little tall earlier my height was same as my father but now I am a little taller than him.

Note - I stopped growing at the age of 17.I am not taking any supplement for increasing height only multivitamins and calcium in the form of milk.
