Sunlight is the number 1 extrinsic cause of aging. Everything else (sugar/salt intake, sleep, squinting) makes up like 10%. Maybe even less. There are other things like earth's gravity and genetics which you cannot change so no point worrying over those.

Wear sunscreen to save collagen u niggers

Sun, stress, sugar, and ciggs.

How does sun ruin collagen?

Basically everything

Is any of this reversible, either through time or things like Retin-A?
proper skin care routine, vitamin c serum, retin-a, chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing

Too much unecessary sun exposure when I was younger and unaware, and I suspect minoxidil gave my forehead some kind of orange peel-like texture.

Smoking, steroids and photoaging from the sun. The 3 biggest killers of collagen.

- NSAIDs like ibuprofen and naproxen
- Glucocorticoids/Corticosteroids so like cortisone creams
- A sedentary lifestyle
- Disease and genetic disorders
- Ultraviolet light
- The Agepill
- Hormonal imbalances
- Chronic inflammation
- Bad sleeping habits, smoking, and alcohol
- Excessive caffeine intake

Fortunately I have the ultimate collagenmaxxing regiment, thread coming soon.

any sources on why melanotan2 does not affect collagen?

Usually poor diet and excessive unprotected sun exposure are huge factors. Lack of sleep and dehydration are also big killers of collagen.

Agree with everything but how caffeine effects collagen?

I usually drink matcha green tea from time to time and it has little caffeine in it

You are right about caffeine it’s bad ngl

Caffeine's effects on skin and health include:

1. Premature aging and wrinkle formation
2. Interference with beauty sleep
3. Reduced skin moisture
4. Inhibited iron and calcium absorption”

“Caffeine leads to premature skin aging
Having too much caffeine can lead to premature wrinkles. A clinical study on "caffeine skin problems" has shown that caffeine inhibits collagen biosynthesis. This is because caffeine inhibits the enzyme prolidase, which plays a role in collagen synthesis.

There are higher levels of the stress hormone cortisol as well as insulin in coffee drinkers. Insulin causes inflammation and leads to premature aging in the form of fine lines and wrinkles. Consistently high levels of cortisol inhibit your skin’s ability to heal, regenerate, and protect itself. High levels of cortisol can also lead to collagen breakdown.

Additionally, caffeine constricts blood vessels, making it difficult to supply the skin with nutrients. This can result in fine lines and wrinkles. Vasoconstriction also limits oxygen flow to your skin, which makes it look dull and sallow.”

I did not found a study about how bad green tea is but from what I read that green tea is rich in antioxidants and does not have much caffeine actually green tea found to be good on the skin

“These results suggest that green tea is able to delay collagen aging by an antioxidant mechanism that is in part duplicated by the combination of vitamin C and E.”

Not sure man we all know that caffeine is bad but green tea don’t make me worried that much
