Can we learn boxing at home?

Completely newbie here. I dont think boxing gyms will open anytime soon,
Can we learn boxing at home to the point of self defense. Where we dont get made fun of in a fight. And atleast end it in a tie....
Also I have never done any martial arts or fighting of any kind. I was obese entire life in my house eating pizzas.

if you know someone that's good at boxing, you can spar him, otherwise you won't pick up on anything.

btw, if you really want to learn boxing I suggest you read "Box like the Pros" by Joe Frazier, very solid and comprehensive book on boxing
