Whats the diff between fast and slow?
It's the digestion speed. Fast release carbs digest at a much faster pace than slow carbs and provide energy quick. They're most useful peri-workout (pre, intra, post) because your body uses a lot of them for tasks like sports and high HR activities. Slow carbs provide steady release of energy because they digest slower throughout the day. Best for meals outside of your workout window.
Fast: rice, rice cakes, honey, cereal, honey, fruit jams, gummy bears, fruit juice, dextrose, dates, bananas
Slow: potatoes, oats, vegetables, pasta, bread

This was written off the top of my head and I'm sure I forgot some.
