casement windows vs sliding windows

casement windows is in my opinion, is only useful in cold weather places and is a subhuman form of window.
it takes a lot more maintenance, takes a longer time to operate, and a lot harder to fix.

They are the standard in Europe, sliding windows are very rare here. I think the sound isolation is superior, they have a rubber seal around them, and when you turn the handle the window is tightly pressed against the frame.
