I'm here to end this debate once and for all.
Ok! Now that we got that out of the way, lets get into the nitty gritty.
Why does minoxidil suck and why is castor oil better?:
Well, to answer this we first need to know what minoxidil is!
Castor oil before and after:
After experimenting with many many different oils, castor oil is the only one that grew my eyebrows. I hope your take away from this thread is to throw minoxidil in the trash and pick up some castor oil!
Castor oil is a thick natural oil from the castor bean, containing ricinoleic acid, vitamin E, and fatty acids. It's been used for centuries (since 1500 BCE, castor oil was used for skin and hair issues). Before we go further, ask yourself this: which is healthier for my eyebrows/lashes. A natural oil that comes from a bean or a chemical made in a lab?

Why does minoxidil suck and why is castor oil better?:
Well, to answer this we first need to know what minoxidil is!
Minoxidil is a vasodilator, which means it widens blood vessels to pump nutrients to your follicles. Simple enough right? Except for the side effects. Which include: Scalp irritation, flaking, and itching. Studies (Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology) show 3-7% of people deal with irritation, and 4-7% get unwanted hair from topical use. Oral minoxidil is even worse, with the included amazing side effect of heart palpitations!
If you stop using minoxidil your hair growth/gains are gone, simple as that. You need to keep buying this disgusting chemical sludge and lathering it on your face to keep any hair growth. While its not super expensive it's still a pointless expense especially for the younger members of the forum.
Castor oil before and after:

Alrighty, we talked about why minoxidil sucks and what castor oil IS, but what does castor oil do?
Castor oil ricinoleic acid reduces inflammation and strengtehsn hair follicles, while the vitamin E and fatty acids hydrate your eyebrows. In 2015 a study (jouranal of Ethnopharmacology) showed ricinoleic acid improves scalp health.
Debunking common arguments:
SULT1A1 is an enyzme that activates minoxidil in the scalp by converting it into minoxidil sulfate, but some people have low levels of this making minox ineffective the only other route is oral, and all know the problems with oral minoxidil: it bloats you and you need to take an aldosterone-antagonist to circumvent this, and even then youre still going to grow unwanted hair around your body.
TLDR:
Castor oil is minoxidil without the side effects. It's naturally occuring in nature, has been around for thousands of years, and wont bloat you. It also isnt dependant on an enzyme called "SULTA1A" for it to work.
Epilogue:
Now ask yourself, do you want chemical slop that bloats you (and doesnt even work topically 20% of the time) and is made in a lab. Or do you want a natural eyebrow thickener that has been used for thousands of years?
