changes to expect from braces?

i have a deep bite, but for a while (1-2 years) ive had my jaw resting in the "correct" position (yes i know of the tmj risks idc).
im planning on getting braces very soon but my main aim with the braces is not to fix my bite itself but to fix the recession that comes with the bite, as manually correcting my bite both makes my lower third taller, and moves my mandible forward.
will braces give me this change permanently?

Traditional have the ability to make things worse, I’d be careful
