Changing eye color by lifestyle adjustments?

As a child I had emerald green eyes. Unfortunately my eye color changed over time and they have become very dark brown. I assume that the reason for the change in eye color is that the retina had accumulated a lot of melanin over time to protect itself from the sun. Similar in principle to what is otherwise the case with the skin. Our skin becomes tanner (this is the melanin) as a response to protect the skin from the sun.

Would it be possible to change the eye color back by depleting the melanin layer with lifestyle changes? Is there something that can break down melanin in the retina?

@HarrierDuBois, @8PSLcel and I are all eyecolourcels.
They can fill you in on the details.

I have green eyes, but in dim, artificial light they look closer to brown or black, but when I go outside or there is decent lighting they are noticeably green.

allie 🌿 on Twitter: qrt with your eye color 👁👁 mine is A50 with a D37 ring in the middle! https://t.co/6k5er71D0s / Twitter

This is what my eye colour looks from direct light.
Looks black in all other cases, since I have quite hooded eyes.

Green and Hazel are useless since average person can't notice the color of your eyes from long distance if you don't have blue eyes.

The thing is you can actually remove the melanin from your skin. But if this works would this not be possible by removing the melanin from your retina? This is the idea I have if it is true that that the brown color is just a melanin layer.

@LiteralCaucasian Thank you for mentioning I take a look. @Graham I did even more autistic measurements by comparing pictures when I was in different rooms with different lighting. My eye color was always brown. I guess in my case this is really a case of melanin, because I refused to use sun glasses as a kid.

I like those theories but what u saying is legit stupid man, its not how it works

I've thought of that as well, believe me.
Currently, only STROMA lasers are strong enough to remove that much melanin from the eye.
MSM can increase the definition of the blue and green behind the eye too.

@Kycx Yeah but I guess it is still more striking to have green eyes when you're in person 1-on-1 chatting with a girl.

@Whatashame I assumed there was something to this idea because people with albinism have light bright eye colors due to no melanin production. If this is not how it works what is it, that causes the melanin in the retina?

Iris implants mog stroma boyo

@LiteralCaucasian Thanks for pointing this out what are your thoughts on wild honey to lighten eye color? Is this legit?

Just become blind theory
I have had a consultation with the doctor for this surgery he said they have 6 eye tests to pass for the surgeries if you pass in all 6 then only the surgery is performed ... And no you don't get blind if the doctor knows what he is doing.

It's not something I'd recommend.

... in most cases Dr. Pajeet doesn't know what he's doing.
Idk but I can't live with my t50 subhuman eyes better be blind than having these
Also jfl at coping with honey to change your eye colour :lul:

Mogs me ffs. Also yeah I suffer from the hooding reduced light exposure, when I lift my brows they pop out much more.

Iris implants look like shit. They look very fake. So fake that even colored contact lenses look more realistic

I have worn coloured contacts which are blue and it completely changed my look
I was logging myself so fucking hard
Btw iris implants don't look fake if you get too much lighter then only that happens

Still, why get iris implants when there is laser? Aren't the risks around the same level for both of these procedures? I am guessing having a foreign object between your cornea and iris can be a little more risky even? Or am I wrong?

So you are saying that laser is riskier?

The melanin that accounts for the eye colour is in the iris not in the retina. Also, this idea and all the similar ones wouldn't work, because of the substantial difference between iridal and dermal melanocytes. While the ones in the skin keep producing melanin for your whole life and have a rather short lifespan, (that's how people can tan) the ones in the iris have a really long life span and only produce melanin in the first years of life, after which they shut down. Skin lightening agents work by inhibiting melanin production in the skin, so once the living melanosomes die out, a lower number is produced, and that's how the skins appears lighter. In the iris this is not possible, since there is no production going on. This means that any attempt at lightening the eye colour that doesn't involve direct and aggressive melanin breakdown won't do shit
