Is that a 1 cup serving? With only 1g of sugar per 1 cup, I imagine that chocolate milk must taste like ass. Unless its artificially sweetened.

Regular milk here is 12-13g of sugar per 250 ml. Without chocolate.

It depends on what your goals are.
Neilson Chocolate Milk (Canada) per 250 ml serving
2.5g Fat (14% calories from fat)
26g Carbs (26g Sugar) (64% calories from carbs/sugar)
9g Protein (22% calories from protein)

22% calories from protein is not a lean source of protein by any means. Chocolate milk should never be your main protein source. But 22% calories from protein is respectable. Especially if you are bulking.

3:1 carbohydrates to protein ratio is ideal for muscle synthesis according to scientific studies. 26:9 is just under 3:1.

If you are cutting, you should drink chocolate milk sparingly. And focus your calorie intake more on the lean proteins like skinless chicken breast, egg whites, tuna, no fat no sugar added plain Greek Yogurt, whey or pea protein powder, etc.
If you are maintaining, you can drink chocolate milk more often
If you are bulking, chocolate milk is perfect and way cheaper by the calorie than mass gainer powder to boot. A $7.29 CAD 4L bag of Neilson Chocolate Milk is 2,560 calories, 144g protein, 416g carbohydrates, 40g fat.

I prefer to dirty bulk on sweets and carbohydrate heavy snacks after working out. And wash it down with a whey protein shake to get my protein in. As the carb:protein ratio for cookies, cakes, chocolates, potato chips, cheese puffs, etc. is usually very high. But if you like choccy milk, choccy milk has the perfect macros for building muscle mass.

And if you buy 0% fat skim milk, it's like 41% of the calories come from protein, 59% from natural sugar. 41% calories from protein is plenty even if you're cutting. Unsweetened cocoa powder doesn't add much calories to that.

If you're bulking, get the homosexual milk.

I want the whole milk. Fat is good for you if it comes from a good source

Yeah so as long as you have protein and don't go over your calorie goal, fat is good for you. Especially from things like dairy, nuts, avocados, acai, hemp, etc.

I did see a scientific study that showed that during a bulk if you eat the equivalent calories in fat vs. carbohydrates, you will gain more body fat eating more fat relative to carbohydrates. Probably because carbohydrates play a more important role in muscle synthesis. But I can't do a low-fat diet. I love fat too much. I've been dirty bulking and I bet a lot of the processed shit I eat contains seed oils too. lmfao. I gained 14 lbs in 23 weeks (126.4 -> 140.4 lbs @ 5'6") mostly dirty bulking eating whatever the fuck I want so as long as I ate 1.8g protein per kg of body weight and didn't move the scale too fast (I tried "clean bulking" with mass gainer powder with maltodextrin near the beginning of my bulk for a little while). And my ab definition didn't take much of a hit though. Probably because I'm still in the newbie gains window.

Today I ate 4 Cotton Candy Hostess cupcakes (600 calories), 2 Ah Caramel snack cakes (260 calories) and 1 chocolate Oreo-knockoff sandwich (Great Value brand) with salted caramel filling (60 calories). lol. On top of three meals per day and whey protein shakes. I've been eating like this since mid-November. lmfao. Carbohydrates all break down into glucose and glycogen is 25% glucose and you need glycogen to repair and build muscle. And fat plays a role in hormone regulation and muscle synthesis too. Clean bulking is a meme. Seed oils is probably a meme too. A lot of the processed shit and restaurant/takeout food I eat is probably drenched in seed oils. The only downside to dirty bulking like that is that I might be deficient in micronutrients. lmfao. Eating calorie-dense processed food is also unlikely to satiate most people. But I rarely feel hunger pangs after completing a 40 lb cut last year (168.2 -> 126.4 lbs).

Link the product for this because shit isn’t adding up
For some time (about 3 months) I was taking Ensure prescribed by my conventional doctor for my nutritional deficiencies, based on my anecdotal evidence and previous experience I can safely say that it’s not a drink that I "enjoyed" because of the flavor, and to some extent it becomes unpleasant and it can be a “maximum effort” to take it, but the truth is that I prefer to get Vitamins, Minerals and protein regardless of the taste.

The milkshake is called “Ensure Max Protein”, I like the chocolate and mocha one.

@alien

You seem to be a high-knowledgeable PhD and Blackpilled in nutrition, do you mind helping me with my diet through PM's?

Why not just drink regular milk or milk+protein powder if you're worried about sugar? Protein powder is cheap as fuck per gram of protein. There really isn't any need for a hAcK.

That said, I'll drink chocolate milk before or after a workout if I feel like it, or as a meal replacement because in the grand scheme of things 40g of sugar instead of 40g complex carbs a couple times a month isn't going to have a measurable impact on anything.

I drink milk with fat since vitamin k is fat-soluble. Skim milk doesn’t really have any vitamin k. I don’t need to worry about getting fat since I’m 123 lbs and I do 21 hour intermittent fasting, it’s hard to get enough calories anyway since I am too lazy to spend a lot of time eating.

McDonald’s strawberry Milkshakes is the best protein hack.
Just for the hell of it I decided to look at the nutrition facts for McDonald's strawberry milkshake
Serving: Large (693g)
Protein: 23g (8.1% calories from protein. JFL)
Carbohydrates: 201g (71.1% calories from carbs)
Fat: 26g (20.8% calories from fat)
Calories: 1,130

Also 164g sugar (58% calories from fat)

Jesus Fucking Christ. That thing is just sugar and cream. Doesn't seem like there's much actual milk in their shakes.

Strawberry milk is decent tho. Chocolate milk has slightly more protein.

Neilson Strawberry Milk 1% Milk Fat
Fat: 2.5g
Carbs: 26g (25g sugar)
Protein: 8g (20% calories from protein)

Our bodies need fat. Fat especially when fasting is a good source of energy.

Protein, or rather proteins, are just a category of chemicals. Some of them are inedible or even toxic. Most of protein in milk comes from casein, which isn't even digestable. It doesn't have the 4 aminoacids that you can only get from meat.

I buy some protein drinks already. Chocolate milk is just an exciting source of protein for me if it can work out.

So I settled on getting 2% Fairlife Choccy Milk. Good protein with tooo much fat

I’ve drank 4 liters of chocolate milk in the past few days

How's this a hack when it dosnt contain any more protein than plain milk and is more expensive per litre
