1. God is Immortal

2. Jesus was Mortal

3. God cannot die

4. Jesus died

5. How can Jesus be God?

You can extend this same argument to knowledge, power, etc too, not just mortality.

You cannot say “God can do anything”
Because God does not do thing not befitting his nature. For example, God will not become Satan, nor will God make himself cease to exist.

I’m not looking to hate or cause issues, just want to have a genuine discussion.

Yeah well…God dying would make him…not God. In the same way, God making himself not All Knowing would make him not God. It’s rationally impossible.

How can God, an infinite being, be a human, which is a finite being?

That’s like being a square with three sides

I know. This is a key component of the Hypostatic Union.

Jesus was not beholden to death, it did not have authority over him if he rose from the dead of his own power. And It was purposed to give salvation for man who deserves death, multiplying eternal life by Gods providence.

They were mocking him on the cross for this exact reason btw

This is a separate thing. It doesn’t address my points.

he died for the sake of man, hes death was a form of rebellion, he couldve commited mass murder to the romans if he wanted to, he accepted the fate of being man, and thus died for the sake of man

Life is not only limited to Physical things, God is immortal beyond the physical life. The 2nd claim is far to complicated to dissect but I would say that God will not make himself cease to exist because it would make all cease to exist

Just because jesus' human form dies, that doesnt mean god died.

The human body died but the human body was not the entirety of god.

Its like if you have a school with many buildings, and you knock down the history department, the school is still chilling

So your response is “God works in mysterious ways”

and I would argue, God dying in any capacity is as problematic as him ceasing to exist

not what i said, let me try again. Life to a christian is not physical but spiritual. If I were to not have God, I would be dead in my sin. The physical body is not of importance. Obv im on this forum to improve myself, the Bible talks about that as well, to not waste your body or potential

you genuinely think they got a magic mf making all your decisions or some bs? its all cope
Nigga what are you even talking about???
just say you're retarded fag

I get that, but that’s another thing. The main topic is how you’d justify Jesus being God, dying, when God cannot die

im not a faggot nor am I retarded lmao. you think something with zero evidence is real? good for you then

You just said "idk" on something you have no knowledge off. Why should you reply even tho it's not anything related about the topic. You are pretty much retarded doing this bullshit

Why is this RANDOM NIGGA descriving god? U cant think of infinity being finite.

The point is a question of power, Jesus died and yet is immortal, so obviously the premise is wrong. Immortal obviously doesn’t have to mean cannot die when considering anything is possible to God. Through Gods own perfectly reflected image and likeness.

If god was right in front of you, good and evil won't be in balance and therefore humans won't truly have free will. He chose to not make himself evident so that you choose to believe. Not be forced to follow the path

50/50 chance everything you believe in isn't real. I wouldnt take those odds

He was never fully human.
How can you be both divine, and not divine at the same time?

How is it logically possible to say that you are a created being, and an uncreated being?

“Jesus died and yet is immortal”

“He is a bachelor and yet is married”

They’re the same type of statement

Better to die Christian than not. If you lived as a Christian you lived normal but just righteous life. It's a good way of living regardless

It's not logical to us for God to have always existed and exist. Yet it is the truth. Some things we can't fully process. Just like kids don't always understand why parents give them certain orders or forbid them from doing something.
