with choshiu being the most typical/common phenotype

Physical Traits:​

Light to brownish yellow skin with coarse straight hair. Rather short to medium height, macroskelic, ectomorph. Mesocephalic, sometimes dolichocephalic, (mildly) hypsicranic. Mildly leptorrhine, sometimes convex nose. The face is narrow and elongated, the mouth small, and the eyes oblique, often with the epicanthic fold.

Physical Traits:​

Pale yellow to dusky yellow brown skin with coarse straight, sometimes wavy hair. Medium height, macroskelic, ectomorph to endomorph. (Hyper-)brachycephalic, hypsicranic with a mildly leptorrhine, sometimes aquiline nose. The face is flat with cheekbones weaker than in Tungid. The chin weak, prognathy mild, the lower lip is relatively thick. The Mongolian fold is pronounced.

and the rare less common northern top tier south korean pheno

Physical Traits:​

Pale yellow to dusky yellow-brown skin, straight hair. Medium height to rather tall, macroskelic, ectomorph to mesomorph. Mesocephalic, sometimes dolichocephalic, mildly hypsicranic with a leptorrhine, relatively long and straight, sometimes aquiline nose. The face is relatively high, oblong and square, 口-shaped. Cheek-bones relatively weak. Lips thin, epicanthic folds pronounced, body hair scant.

all three of them are subtype/similiar to north sinid



while this is the most typical chinese pheno

avg Japnese and South Korean seems to be very similiar but

japnese have their own phenotype

looks like a robust anime character


south korean seems to have stronger influence of north sinid pheno and more tungid central asian influenced mancho korean pheno
that seperates from most chinese and japnese

No. Japanese are light. South Chinese can be SEA looking.

Not really sure tbh, I feel like I have an equal amount of traits belonging to all three phenos. I'd say a mix of Huanghoid/Yakonin and Manchu-Korean since that is what my parents have.

As for @mrriceguy, these phenos are arbitrary to him. He's Central Asian, and Central Asians have distinct phenotypes from East Asians due to historical West Eurasian admixture and adaptation to more arid and highland climates.
