So, as we know the Turkish identity is controversial, and part of it is due to genetics. some say we are brown Arabs, or that we are yellow bugmen from the Altai Mountains. and some say that we are just Greek. so I decided to see for myself with no bias.

Turks are the closest genetically to:

1 - Greeks (Northern Greeks to be specific).
2 - Northern Syrians (specifically Syrians from Aleppo).
3 - Bulgarians.
4 - Armenians.
5 - Western Balkan populations.
6 - Albanians.
7 - Georgians.

Turks don't have Syrian DNA. it's the opposite. Northern Syrians have Anatolian DNA, that's why Syrians are the whitest Arabs. Northern Syrians cluster more with Turks than to even Central Syrians.
