I have seen a video of Sam Altman talking about armodafinil and it peaked my curiosity
The only form of "cognitive enhancement" I've done personally was methylphenidate hydrochloride in form of concerta but I faced horrible side effects and quit a few years ago

Yes they have side effects like insomnia and other stuff like headaches. But for ppl like yall who dont have adhd and need temporary help then jus hop on Ritalin which doesnt last very long. Take 5 mg each hour for 2 hours and it should do the job without any major side effects I have with like medikinet or other retard meds

The reason why I quit was I moved all the way up to highest available dose of Concerta (my prescribed ADHD medicine) and that wasn't enough anymore, so I just quit after a measly11 years of using ADHD meds. I am just looking for something that will make a little bit of difference, I can handle the rest

maybe you have to switch medications instead of methylphenidate you should start taking amphetamine based stimulants like adderall or vyvanse, or maybe the cause is a change in metabolism or lifestyle, could be hormonal or maybe problems with your sleep or nutrition. maybe the reason is due to new symptoms: anxiety, depression, or high stress can override the benefits of concerta.
my guess would be that you built up a psychological tolerance, the idea is that essentially your brain may have adapted to the presence of methylphenidate and that you need to take a vacation from meds. And please talk with your doctor before making a decision yourself.
