INTRODUCTION:
What is the NASAL BASE?

-The nasal base is the caudal-most, three-dimensional subunit of the external nose that forms the architectural foundation for the nasal tip and houses the external nasal valves. Structurally, it is a fibrocartilaginous platform bounded superiorly by the nasal tip infratip lobule, laterally by the alar-facial junctions, and inferiorly by the nasolabial junction.
YES, but why is it even important for my looks? Well;
1- Impacts of the Nasal Base in
~FACIAL AESTETICS~:
1.1: Interalar width;
The interalar width is a fundamental anthropometric facial measurement that captures the maximum horizontal distance between the outermost lateral borders of the nasal alae (the fleshy wings flanking the nostrils). And it can brutally ruin your face just because a diference of milimeters, and yes, it depends of the nasal BASE at 100%. Here you got some examples:
A: Ideal
B: Unideal
1.2: Nasal tip Projection;
The Nasal tip projection is the sagittal (forward) distance that the tip of the nose extends outward from the coronal plane of the facial skeleton. We all know this and its not a big deal but without knowing it this could be DESTROYING your side profile without you knowing, and HERE are some examples:
A: Ideal example
B: Unideal example
It gives the appearance of a too protruding nose wich gives you that "rat" and unideal side profile look (and its because of the nasal base again)
1.3: Columella length/shape;
The columella is the central anatomical pillar of the lower nose. It is the visible bridge of tissue that separates the right and left nostrils.Structurally, it forms the central anchor of the nasal base. It is composed of the medial crura of the lower lateral (alar) cartilages, covered by a thin layer of subcutaneous tissue and skin; they are diferents types of columellas and in the photo they are explained. And the nasal base decides the whole morphology of this feature. As always HERE you got some examples:
A: Unideal Example (reccesed columella)
B: Ideal example
As you can see this gives the tip of the nose a whole new look and makes the maxilla more projected (visually)
1.4: Nose Asymmetry (AKA deviated septum)
The nasal septum is the internal partition wall made of bone and cartilage that divides your nasal cavity into two equal halves (the right and left nostrils and the division should be equal in normal cases obviously). And this deviated septum not only will cause you bleedings and breathing problems, because it will ALSO ruin your WHOLE facial symmetry making your face way more deviated and less centered and making the whole midface look tiltes even when its not. Here are both a internal and external comparison:
So, if after I explained all this that isnt even all you keep saying: "Yeah but you can still look good with that, right?" Well... I have to tell you something more
2- Why is the nasal base the god of ratios and harmony?~
A lot of people blame only their nose. But... Have you never asked how there are guys that have a REALLY convex nose over there and they still have good ratios (in harmony terms obviously) and look good even with their nose shape? No, its not their maxilla, its their nasal base, since doesnt matter how "BIG" your nose shape is, if you have a ideal nasal base in all ratios then your harmony will automatically be good since only improving this can give you a compacter midface, a better lip support, a better nasolabial angle, a completely new side profile and a whole NEW perception of your face, so no its not your nose, it was always your nasal base.
Thx for watching and if gets support i will post another Thread about how to fix your Nasal Base
