Forget everything you've learned about taking "testosterone boosting supplements" because it's all wrong.
How many times have you bought a steroid, herbal, or supplement that was supposed to turn you into a beast and gotten less than stellar results? Or maybe you did get results for the first couple of days, and then the magic faded... There’s a reason for this...
TOLERANCE
Without getting into too much detail, one of the main reasons this happens is because your body will, after repeated exposure to a substance, increase it’s metabolism of that substance. This happens in the liver where specific enzymes are created and activated which are used to eliminate the substance your taking. The more you take it, the LESS EFFECTIVE it becomes.
So then, if tolerance is the rate limiting step that stops us from getting the results we want, we need to limit tolerance from happening in the first place. What’s the best way to do this? It’s actually very simple, you only take your supplement once per week, or, even better, once every two or three weeks.
Doing this is known as a "rotation" and requires a fairly large variety of supplements in order to optimize your testosterone to it's maximum levels. Because of the variety required, herbs are one of the absolute best things to rotate. (You want to choose individual herbs for this to work correctly, not products that jam a bunch of different ingredients into one pill, otherwise known as “proprietary blends”)
In this thread, I will go over my favorite herbs I use to get the response that I want, which is heightened testosterone levels and metabolism.
It’s very important that for this to work, your diet and training is on point. If you think you’re just going to wash down a bunch of herbs everyday while eating junk and sitting on the couch and get great testosterone levels, you’re fooling yourself. While you will get some results, this part is just one very important part of the overall system. All the other pieces have to be in place for this to really take you to new natural heights.
You’re going to want to start out with at least one different herb for each day of the week and slowly increase your herb stash over time so that you can build yourself up to a 7-14 day cycle by where you’re taking one herb per day for a consecutive two weeks.
These herbs are listed in no particular order of importance…..the trick here again, is to only take each one ONCE per week, or even better….. once per two or three weeks depending on your finances. The more space you have between taking each one, the better the results will be. Get yourself up to taking 21 different herbs, one per day, over the course of three weeks and your testosterone is going to be higher then it’s ever been. These bottles are going to last you a long time, aren't they?
These herbs work with your body, not against it. They build you up, not shut you down as so many other things do. The other benefit here is that each one of them works a little bit differently in your body to increase your testosterone levels. By cycling so many different ones you’re hitting it from all angles leaving no stone unturned.
Some will work better then others, but by cycling in this way you will have all of your bases covered.
The other benefit to using natural plant based herbs such as these is they are actually nourishing to your system. They are LOADED with vitamins, minerals, phyto-chemicals and natural plant based androgens, most of which are missing from the average western diet. Many of them boost testosterone simply by the fact that they supply your body with trace minerals and vitamins in a bioavailable form unrivaled by any vitamin or mineral supplement you can take as a standalone. Some herbs have even been shown to reduce the effects of Xenoestrogens in your system.
The other important thing to be aware of here is quality. So many of the supplements that come pre-packed into pills are loaded with binders and fillers and proprietary blends that water down the actual target material. Always try to get stand alone product if possible that has been tested for impurities and heavy metals. Taking herbs like this won’t taste the best, but the results will be second to none. My favorite website for this is Lost Empire Herbs, who sell high quality, raw powders of all of the herbs listed below, and even includes some tinctures which have hormones such as DHEA, which is a nice bonus for your rotation.
I won't link Lost Empire Herbs, but you should be able to find their website on your own. The list of testosterone boosting herbs are as follows:
Ant Extract
Ashwaganda
Butea Superba (not on LEH, but still good, find somewhere else...)
Cistanche
Cordyceps
Eleuthero
Goji Berry
He Shou Wu
Horny Goat Weed
Maca
Mucuna Priens
Pine Pollen
Pine Pollen Extract
Schisandra
Shilijat
Suma Root Extract (not on LEH, find somewhere else...)
Tongkat Ali
Tribulus Terrestris
These herbs are a nice mixture of nutritious testosterone boosters and adaptogens, which make for a great alternative to TRT, or other steroids, which can be expensive and require PCT, among other things. Infact, a herb rotation itself makes for a great PCT for steroid users.
This list of herbs is quite extensive and by following this herb rotating protocol along with proper diet and exercise routine, you are going to be blown away with how you feel after a few weeks of this.
