Computer programming's deliberately complex. It's a deceptive language replacement. So I wouldn't label such as mentally challenging but more so of clever deception. Basically, that's how many languages derived from one another. In the beginning, there was one language. But ugh, trust issues and greed commenced. "Mine-mine-mine!"
