What is better to study at university

Computer Science or Cyber Security or Artificial Intelligence or Cloud

We all know theres an impending doom for code monkeys as they will be slowly replaced by AI as more self code bullshit drops so AI is looking extremely tasty right now alongside cybersec and cloud

If I did a CS degree do you think I could learn 2 of the 3 while at Uni from some online course and still get cloud and cyber sec related jobs

High level easy stuff will eventuality get automatised by AI.

Low level shit like embedded systems r gud

No not even close Finance is only good at top schools

@IPray2JordanBarrett I'm going to do it as a masters after CS

Computer science is better
1. Learn a long life skill
2. Can build a business with CS skills
3. In Demand
4. Has a million paths

You can even get finance jobs with a CS degree just JFLLLLLL

At masters il probably do a masters in finance or business and hopefully find a business minded person similar to me or go into IB

I'm in the UK

If you do CS is still better but it will be much harder at a top University so your better off doing finance at top unis if youre not high IQ

Agreed, but I feel like doing finance will give better social skills and is a better path for an entrepreneur, because my end goal is to not work a job and have a business with passive income.

Only true for IB/PE

Can confirm because I’m coming out of a non target starting $75k in January.

Will respond in more detail later, busy atm.

I would do Comp Sci.

Cyber Sec and AI can be learned as a comp sci major and there are many certificates/exams you can do to prove your worth in them.

Doing these specialized degrees will gimp your work search in the future imo, while Comp Sci keeps all your doors open

Also if you have interest in finance you can also leverage a comp sci degree into quantitative finance, which is some cool work and I know a bunch of guys doing that.

I like it, the hours are not terrible and the culture at my company is great.

The hours are worse depending on what kind of work you want to do, finance is a very broad term.

If you like being sociable and making good money finance is a good place to be.

If you don’t want to interact with anyone, I would avoid it unless you want to do back office roles.

if you are in the UK why get a cs degree at all? if you have the grades to get onto a cs course, you can get onto an apprenticeship which is an infinitely better option.

Want to move out

+ Apprenticeships are so competitive

not competitive if you are actually smart.. I know literal nigs with sports science diplomas on some IT apprenticeships. if you have an A level in maths or computer science you will get on easier.
