What's more useful for moneymaxxing

computer science tbh

Either, CS has more opportunities but you can easily make good money in finance, also its a less nerdy environment

definitely a stem type subject like engineering.

corporate finance if you're talking about investment banking

cs... well you can make an app that can be purchased by google or something or join a startup that explodes

I think cs is more "stable" and "guaranteed" if you live in america at least

Corporate finance if you have good connections in the industry and you're stress tolerant.

Computer science if you're a high iq problem solver.

You know that the chances for this to happen is ZERO for all practical purposes.

Finance 100% depends at what school you get into unless you have previous connections
You need to see if the school has internships at known companies.(So basically only if your school is in NYC or Chicago)

Engineering is a solid career choice
CS as well but do you like being among curries?
And CS is a skillset you can always teach yourself. Most companies will hire as long as you can prove you have the skills.

lol everyone here is fucking retarded. corporate finance is actually a different field to investment banking. in finance the best careers would be private equity / hedge fund based but usually that involves starting off in investment banking. for cs you obviously need a cs or maths degree or something like that but in finance, any degree will do - but you MUST attend an elite school, Wharton, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, etc. for any chance of success, a CS degree might be appealing for some recruiters in finance, especially certain hedge funds that are on the quantitative side, e.g Citadel (they can pay you a shit ton but they also fire people for the smallest mistake) but its not going to make or break a career in finance in general, e.g IB and PE

To be a quant you need to know math, it doesnt matter the school you went to.

No shit you need to no math. For investment banking you could do basket weaving at harvard and still get a job. But even for quants, the school you want to does matter, but there is a lot more leg room in terms as quant funds aren't turned on by prestige as much

I was talking about financial engineering. A phd in math from india has better chamces in ws than an mba from harvard. I know because i have a masters in financial engineering from in ivy league and now i am doing a phd in stats and oper.research.

corporate finance at a target school at any time given, the networking and contacts you get... many chads from rich backgrounds there.

JFL at engineering CS you'll be bathing with ethnics and nerdy cucks all day long, pick finance

An engineer can easily pick up Finance by studying CFA etc.

However a Finance guy can rarely due the stuff an engineer can

Unless you go to an Ivy League school engineering will probably be better, If your family have a sizable business and good relationships with some bigger firms you might land a job in finance but it's a very rapidly changing industry so you can't be sure what will happen in 10-20 years from now if you haven't already made a good career for yourself.

Keep in mind that engineering will be a lot slower and a lot less glamours than finance due to a different culture, id say visit the campuses that you are planning on going to and get a tour and a feel for the culture of both.

Corp finance is basically accounting and the real move would be to start your own company once you get experience whatever you end up studying.
