Could palatal expansion effect the mandible?

I'm getting braces sorta soon, when i get them ill be 15, I'm gonna try my best to larp my way into getting a palate expander despite the fact that the ones given by orthodontists aren't particularly good and could never compare to MSE/MARPE or any other bone anchored method of expansion. If i get it I'm gonna turn it a lot, more then they would tell me to turn it. What I'm wondering is could expansion of the palate help me to get a wider chin, my jaw itself isn't particular narrow, but my chin is, and any bi gonial width id gain would be more than welcome.

I should mention, my palate is narrow in the terms that a normal orthodontist would use, but it certainly isn't wide, i also just want the palate expander for a wider smile and better breathing through my nose. Also if anyone knows if a tooth anchored palate expander would help with improving nasal volume or not, i know people with MSE talk tons about how good the improvements are.

Any help or bumps are very appreciated cus i have like no reputation.

No. You need MSDO or a five-piece-BSSO to widen the lower arch. SFOT can create some space as well but it's minimal.

MSDO would actually be something i could do is people actually did it, if only it was a commonly done procedure, i could totally larp something and convince my parents and some ortho that i needed it and expansion, but i guess its sketchy because it isnt really anchored anywhere except for the teeth.

Only a handful of doctors perform 5-piece-BSSO, 2 in the US, 1 in the UK, and 1 in Australia (at least that I've heard of), I doubt they'd perform it unless you medically needed it, like your lower arch is clinically narrow enough to warrant it.

MSDO is kinda shit, risks giving you TMD & turning your gonians inward. Not worth it at all imo

I'd say if you want a wider chin the best way to go is just saving up for an implant or filler.
