Things began to change dramatically in 2016, when phones and social media became much more similar to what they are now, with the launch of the Galaxy S7 and iPhone 7, combined with dating apps such as Tinder at the time, which were only accessible to a very small niche of people, mainly due to limited access to technology/lack of global popularity outside university campuses in wealthy countries
