Cutting eyelashes?

I have pretty long lashes and they cover my lateral canthus, making my eye tilt look negative. How much and what lashes should i cut shorter to reveal my lateral canthus. Are there any guides on this. I was looking for a while but couldn't find one about cutting lashes. Don't really want to mess this up cuz lashes take a decently long time to grow and i don't want to look like a retard.
