A few very wealthy individuals have determined that enormous amounts of money will be invested into AI. The consequences are significant and will affect ALL of us. Its hard to say when but our cognitive abilities will inevitably become obsolete. The logical consequence is that we won’t have any economic impact and thus we will have to rely on the few billionaires who run the AI companies. The field is rapidly evolving and calling AI shit doesnt make sense anymore. Additionally LLMs are only a subset of AI and other paradigms like energy based models are emerging. So even if you dislike LLMs it doesn’t mean that other architectures won’t dominate. Now to get to the actual point: Who asked us if WE want this??? It‘s pretty brutal that a few rich people are shaping our fate without consulting the masses.
