The Ars Goetia clearly talks about SEEING demons when you summon them. Not “imagining” them, not “astral projecting” their form, not playing makebelieve with your own head. Yet modern occultists keep pushing this nonsense about “visualizing” or “inner conversations” with spirits, which is just outright cope.


So there are only two possibilities:

-They don’t want to deal with us anymore since medieval times, probably because nowadays there’s a higher risk of being recorded or properly documented

-It was all fake from the start

The thing that makes me wonder about all of this is that in very old manuals they were clearly stating to actually see them following the protocol, going forward it started shifting to smoke images, then weird reflections in black mirrors to the today’s “astral imaging” stuff.
It is probably like you said to be fair, as people started experimenting and doubting all of the demon existence itself and not blindly believing they had to start developing a workaround like this in order to keep the believability going

Think about how it is that a table exists. Like really think. How does this table exist? Well, it has 4 legs, I can see it, I can touch it, I can walk out of the room and come back and it's still there which adds to its reality, other people can talk about the table, this adds to the reality.

Reality is thus relatively a construction of mind, whatever mind is at the moment, the total sum of mind related to the object.

A dream is less real than waking life in many instances because it shifts, it's water, it's less solid. But all that exists is equally real. The river is no less real because the water flows quickly, while a rock doesn't move. A rock may be considered slightly more solid, more paradigmatic as what's real as it's solid, sturdy, unchanging, etc. A rock may be considered closer to Godliness.

Okay that said, what makes an angel real or not real? Plenty of people have seen angels, so that's enough for them to exist in some way. To say "well people only see them in special states, in mystical experiences, in special circumstances." Well I only see a sunset in special states, in certain circumstances. If I'm inside, not looking out a window I don't see a sunset.

Demons are real. You don't want to interact with them.
