When people here talk about IPD, they assume that it is a static figure when it changes depending on how far or close the object you are focusing on is. The variation in IPD depending on viewing distance can be 2 mm or even more. Check this article:
I know 2 mm doesn't sound that much but when you are talking about key ratios such as ESR and MFR, the effect can be pretty significant.
