since i was a kid i always thought the Christian "good" was never genuine. My thought process is that Christians follow all these divine laws and principles just so that they dont rot in hell, so its more selfish than anything. Thoughts?

Exactly Most religious people don’t genuinely believe in what they claim to follow; they do it more out of fear of hell or the hope for a place in heaven. Many are unaware of their own motives, or too far gone to recognize them. True conviction, however, comes from within. Deceiving oneself into blindly believing in something for the sake of eternal bliss is no different than an atheist who refuses to believe in anything. The idea that our beliefs alone determine whether we go to heaven or hell is absurd. Why would a loving God judge us on "blind faith" when He gave us reason and logic?
