DIY Aqualyx (With Pics)

I've done 6+ DIY sessions of Aqualyx on and off in the past year. I will show you exactly how to do it (with pics) for the best results. A lot of ppl have been asking but it really is a straightforward and easy process.

Dosage and Injection Points
The golden rule for optimal results and avoid irregularities or dents is 0.1ml = 1cm. For example, if I am injecting 0.12ml per point, I will space the points on my grid 1.2cm apart. Do not inject over 0.2ml per point.

Examples spaced 1.2cm apart (cheeks):

Try to keep the grid identical on both sides like this. Left img for my left cheek, right img for my right cheek.

This grid had an odd shape because I pinned along my mandible. Regardless, the points are spaced evenly 1.2cm apart.

Some examples with more injection points.

This was for submental fat (double chin). The grid doesn't need to be as perfect. Realistically, most people wont notice small irregularities (if any) under your chin.

Needle and Injection Technique
Buy 6-8mm needles, 27-31 gauge.

I prefer 30 gauge for comfort and less bleeding.

Do not reuse needles. It is much easier to preload the syringes with the exact doses and push the entire dose in. This ensures consistent dosing per point and sterilization. Syringes are also extremely cheap off Amazon, it's not worth reusing.

Always pinch when injecting. The angle doesnt matter as long as you pinch for subq fat. Personally, I always do 90° and insert the full needle length. I recommend this for two main reasons. Firstly, it is easer to be consistent at 90°. Trying to inject 30+ different points at the same 45° angle is very difficult. Secondly, you avoid superficial dermis injections.

This is what happens when the Aqualyx is injected too superficially. Left img post injection, right img three weeks later. It's not the end of the world, only temporary and not noticable like a popped pimple.

Full Supply List
- Needles (Amazon)
- Alcohol Wipes (Amazon)
- Any Pen to mark points
- Aqualyx (Idk if it counts as advertising for me to give sources), but scan the qr code on your box for authencitiy. I paid £150 for a box of 10 vials. You can store unopened vials at room temp, I don't recommend reusing vials.

Risks
It's similar to DIY botox and quite low-risk. Because you're injecting a small dose of Aqualyx per point, any mistake only leads to minor and temporary effects. For example, minor nerve damage, intramuscular injections, superficial injections etc. it was never serious, systemic, or even noticable to anyone. Everything that could possibly go wrong will eventually heal in a few weeks. Just make sure you properly disinfect the area beforehand with alcohol wipes and use gloves or at least wash hands to avoid infection like any other injection.

Timing, Swelling, and Pain
You should wait a minimum of three weeks in between sessions. Be patient, dead fat cells dont come back. There's no need to rush.

The swelling is normal, you will look like a chipmunk for 5 days. By day 5-6 the swelling will go down a significantly and will not be noticable. So make sure you dont have any responsibilities before pinning. I don't leave my uni dorm for a week after pinning. It's recommended to avoid vasodilator/constrictor drugs like alcohol, caffeine or stimulants after, but honestly it doesn't really matter.

Obv it wont feel nice because Aqualyx is designed to kill and damage fat tissue. Depending on your pain tolerance you could use lidocaine. Personally, I've never used lidocaine, the pain was never unbearable for me. It hurt most in my first session mainly because I didn't know what to expect. But after a few sessions the pain really didn't bother me at all.

This is not medical advice or a recommendation. This is an educational post based on what I have personally done to myself. Consult with a licensed medical professional before any procedure. This is purely sharing my personal experiences and what I have done on myself and only myself. It is not intended as a recommendation to others.

If anyone has any further questions reply or PM me. I will do my best to answer :HYPERSL:.

You injected some along the actual mandible /jawline? Isn’t there lots of nerves there so how did you avoid them

its a very real risk but not rlly that serious. id say injecting too superficially is the most common mistake i made. it ends up creating hyperpigmentation that takes weeks-months to fully fade.

but it looks the same as the mark i got from popping a pimple, small and harmless. just apply sunscreen and you can try azelaic acid if it rlly bothers you. but its the same protocol as an acne mark.

idk, i just pinched the skin and hoped for the best. i did hit a nerve once but luckily it was on my hyoid region, so it didnt affect my face and numbness gradually faded in a month or two

the results are permanent and it works but it rlly is a long process. honestly, if you dont live alone and youre worried abt other ppl seeing you bcs of jobs, family, friends etc. i personally wouldnt do it.

I’m not worried about any of that I’m just wondering how the results would turn out

it works, deox acid will kill fat cells if you pin it into a fat pad. just takes a while and multiple sessions to see good results

did you use licodaine or any topicals for this also how come 90 degree thought 45 was to target superficial 90 would just pass far too deep

I assume since it destroys fat cells that it would be the same effect as buccal fat removal? Maybe a less invasive/intense version of that?
