STEP 1
The LeFort I Upper Maxillary Detachment
Carefully slice through the gums above your upper teeth. Insert the Dremel diamond blade directly above the tooth roots and make a horizontal cut across the entire upper jaw.
STEP 2
The Bilateral Sagittal Split (Mandible)
Now for the lower jaw. Take your hand saw and split the mandibular ramus vertically on both sides.
Goal: Slide the lower jaw forward exactly 6.8 millimeters
STEP 3
The Sliding Genioplasty (Chin Advancement)
Saw off the lower point of your chin bone, slide it forward until it sticks out like a drawer, and clamp it into place with your Vise-Grips. Apply a generous layer of marine-grade epoxy around the joint. Hold completely still for 45 minutes while the resin cures.
STEP 4
Wiring the Occlusion
Pull your teeth together into what feels like a straight bite. Secure your upper and lower teeth shut using standard stainless steel zip ties looped around your braces.
