A few months back I went to see a *pediatric* (big mistake, wasn't my choice but anyways) Pulmonologist - speciallising in sleep issues - regarding my shitty sleep and moderate sleep apnea, of course hoping for an insurance covered bimax. He told me about possble treatment options (all bullshit non interventional stuff) but I thought it was just to ease me into it. He ordered a sleep study for me, and I got that done at the end of October. He called my parents today and basically said this: "It's most likely allergic rhinitis. His blood oxygen levels dropped to 84% in one episode but were around 94% on average." He said they got good data and that I have mild sleep apnea, and that its fine really. My parents queried about surgery, however, he told them that it's not nescessary (yet there wasn't even mention of the possibility of a structural issue, nor was there a cranial x ray done but I digress). So he is prescribing me either an antihistamine nasal spray or a corticosteroid nasal spray , and we'll "see how it goes". Fuck this guy. It's important to mention that it is very obviously a structural issue to do with my jaw position (recesssed) as well as my recessed maxilla and deviated septum. No matter how clear my nasal passage is, I always mouth breathe while sleeping so the treatments he suggested are useless anyway. I will most likely be contacting my doctor about this and outright requesting a cranial x-ray. I'll display the evidence along with my hypothesis. What a sick joke. Any thoughts/ advice would be nice.
