Do all types of regular braces give you a recession?

So when I was around 11 or 12 I got braces to fix what I'm pretty sure was teeth crowding where teeth were going to grow into places where they shouldn't. I should also mention that I didn't have any extractions in the process. Would my mandible get recessed or would it not affect anything at all except my teeth?

I don’t think there would be any recession. Usually braces ascend you from my knowledge.

indeed it changed my face alot, i had braces from 11-13 i finished them a time ago
