DO BRACES NERF JAW?

I have an overbite and my dentist said i need atleast 3 different types of braces to fix my jaw but i really don’t see a problem from the outside I’m scared that it’s gonna ruin my jaw

braces will literally protect your jaw jfl, you cannot see the issue from the outside because the problem is how your back teeth fit together on the inside
