It depends. If you have gaps between your teeth and you get braces for that they will bring the teeth together which narrows the dental arch. If you have crowded teeth (means you're handicapped) and you get braces they will space out the teeth which widens the dental arch. However whether someone has a narrow or wide jaw is because of their genetics and womb and toddler development for the most part. But the dental arches do impact.
