depends on wether ur orthodontist kniows what hes doing or not
if he doesnt, hell only focus on making ur teeth straight and that can make u recessed

hmm i cant say without seeing ur face/teeth + even then im no professional

ive had the herbst cus i was recessed and it fixed my recession

so if theres no recession to be fixed idk if its needed

no braces do not recess you, unless they extract teeth and then use the braces to pull your jaw backwards, but thats not happening to you so you would actually gain more foward growth.

as you said, rather than pulling the maxilla backwards they will encourage forward mandible growth. you answered your own question

not quite imo. they also recess you if the doctor is just fixated on straightening your teeth and doesnt look at the impact on the jaw (cus the straighetning happens through "pulling the teeth inwards" idk how to say it in proper english
and gaining forward growth wont happen unless there is an appiance for it (like the herbst one)
