Do Class 3 elastics recess jaw?

My ortho told me to use class 3 elastics to fix my bottom front teeth overcrowding caused by my lower canine going sideways towards my front teeth but im worried they will recess my jaw (damon braces and 13 yrs old if it matters)

I got them already but my ortho told me to use class 3 elastics to bring out my lower canine fixing my front crowding im worried if this would recess my lower jaw just like how class 2 elastics recess the upper jaw
