Do palate expanders change the face positively?

I had braces and one tooth extracted and guess what, now i have TMJ, Sleep apnea and trash airways. Since i can claim it for free, does it help facial aesthetics? i’m turning 17, please share any insight

yes they do if you have problems that correlate to the use of expanders.

depends if ur doing it for the functional purpose, You got one tooth removed already which is just asking for asymmetry with marpe/mse. Don't do marpe for the aesthetics, Cause it isn't at all I haven't seen anyone look better with marpe unless they had a crossbite or they were cheekbone deficient . In your case it would help for functional purpose. Most likely not aesthetics. Also depending on ur mandible angle if its inward or outwards it will mess ur ratios a ton. Functional yes do it, aesthetic its a hit or miss and most of the time a miss, Good luck.

what do you mean by outwards or insatts gonions? like i have a narrow plate and my jaw pretty narrow from the front but yea i was worried about asymmetry

Be very careful with palate expanders as it widens your whole face ( if you have wider set eyes, low fwhr, too wide jaw ) you could get them but otherwise it will ruin your facial ratios. But also depends for how long you will wear them

my facial proportions are good it’s just that i have little nasiolabal folds and also clearly a flat maxilla, cheekbones aren’t wide either just forward grown

I mean you can try it then. Nasolabial folds may be because your bloated because noone should have nasolabial folds at a young age

If you are diagnosed with sleep apnea you can get approved for much better, more effective (but more expensive) surgeries
