Atleast not in the classical biblical sense
No, ive tried.
I've read too many books on evolutionary psychology and I can't change my world view by much, im too aware of others animalistic and automatic behaviours and where they trace back to. I truly want to believe that we have "free will" and a higher purpose but its not happening.can you explain more?
what got you becoming more religious?used to not, but I'm coming around to doing so
Happy to see users who think by themselves and don't believe in shitty religionsI personally don’t
I think religion is for comfort
For people who don’t understand
Science
Or the universe
You can never really disprove God’s existence but
The chances are higher
That there is no God
YesЯ сам родился и вырос в мусульманской семье, но сейчас являюсь агностиком.

Catholicism is my favorite religionyes, i belive in Christianity

Based view on itIts hard to believe in religion but its also hard not to respect it for what it has done to for civilization and culture.
Religions are cope in generalI personally was born and raised muslim, but im now agnostic
I don't know yet. still thinkingI personally was born and raised muslim, but im now agnostic
Short version.what got you becoming more religious?
can you elaborate?I've already seen God, so yes
sameI don't know yet. still thinking

i dont remember you ever mentioning religon to meIf u rmbrr that story i told you in pms, that's what pushed me to atheism to me previously just being neutral agnostic. I dont see how a God would let that happen
Also, I feel as if people who are more blessed in a blackpill sense tend to be more religious (6'1 chad believes in god), but what god are you thinking and praying to if ur a deformed midget in Pakistan?
I did 5-MeO-DMT, which dissolved all space-time structure and the observer from reality.can you elaborate?
i remember you telling me about your dmt experience, i just dont remember the whole religon partI did 5-MeO-DMT, which dissolved all space-time structure and the observer from reality.
The closest description of what I experienced was God: pure infinite being, absolute unity, the substrate underneath existence itself.
The experience felt like direct contact with the very fabric from which reality, consciousness, and existence emerge.
I am atheist, raised Christian.can you elaborate?
same
i dont remember you ever mentioning religon to me
@Mogs Me @Petsmart @Grievous @Starborn @Swarthy Knight
Before the trip, I was already a spiritual person and was never a materialist-reductionist atheist type anyway.i remember you telling me about your dmt experience, i just dont remember the whole religon part
what were your religous beleifs before the trip and what were they like after?
do you beleive in a specific religon? and what do you beleive happens after death. Before the trip, I was already a spiritual person and was never a materialist-reductionist atheist type anyway.
I was already interested in consciousness, metaphysics, non-duality, symbolism, etc., but it was mostly mental models in my head.
My DMT experience changed it from abstraction into direct experience.
Now, I no longer see God as some old man in the sky (this idea never resonated with me anyway), and the experience itself made it feel more like consciousness itself is fundamental, and that individuality/separation is something layered on top of a deeper unified reality.
Now I understand spiritual traditions much better. Ego death, unity with God, enlightenment, etc., are all part of different cultures that point to the same underlying thing through different symbols and stories.
If anything, it made me understand why religions and mystical traditions emerged in the first place.
yes, i do believe in god@Jason Voorhees @Hernan @Gargantuan @acm @EthiopianMaxxer
Why does it even matter?I personally was born and raised muslim, but im now agnostic
what got you believing in god later on?Everyone be like no I didnt believe in god when I was 16 either.
I don’t follow a specific religion as I’m more interested in the mystical core beneath religions than in the man-made institutions themselves.do you beleive in a specific religon? and what do you beleive happens after death.
and with people who have spiritual experiences using psychs, they usually are a lot different to eachover (based on all the trip reports i read online), so what makes you beleive that its really god rather then it being you?
Existential fear. I dont know if I believe in God but i just really hope there is more than deterministic naturalism. And I do believe that reality is absurdwhat got you believing in god later on?
does your god guide you or anything in anyway, like does he tell you giving charity and being nice is good, but rape is bad or smth.I don’t follow a specific religion as I’m more interested in the mystical core beneath religions than in the man-made institutions themselves.
I do resonate with Buddhism, esoteric Christianity, Gnosticism, and some others. Ideas like karma, reincarnation, ego death, spiritual evolution, and unity consciousness all resonate very much with me.
And I believe consciousness is fundamental/what we actually are, while individual identity is a temporary configuration within it.
So I believe that after death, consciousness continues in some form, because at the deepest level, I don’t think we are separate from existence itself.
What made my DMT experience feel fundamentally different is that it stripped away content itself. There were no visions, entities, narratives, or hallucinations. The entire structure of subject/object separation collapsed.
And interestingly, some of these ideas also seem to echo in mathematics and physics in ways I find hard to ignore, but that’s a much deeper rabbit hole.

i always wondered what buddhists beleive inYes I do, but the idea of god is not a core belief of my religion (Buddhism)
