It's too large, I'd like it to be smaller in the region of which it occupies!

Not necessarily. The size of a man’s Adam’s apple is primarily determined by the size of the larynx (voice box) and the angle of the thyroid cartilage, both of which are influenced by testosterone during puberty. However, having a smaller Adam's apple doesn’t directly correlate with low testosterone levels.

Here’s why:

  • Individual Variation: Some men naturally have smaller Adam's apples despite normal or even high testosterone levels. Genetics plays a major role in determining its size.
  • Testosterone and Development: During puberty, testosterone causes the larynx to grow and the voice to deepen, but the extent of this growth varies from person to person.
  • Low Testosterone Symptoms: If testosterone levels are truly low, other symptoms like fatigue, decreased muscle mass, low libido, and changes in mood are more reliable indicators than Adam’s apple size.
If there are concerns about testosterone levels, the best approach is to get them tested through a blood test rather than relying on physical characteristics like an Adam's apple.
