I prefer manual transmission. Feels more in control and keeps you busy and fun.

I might add I drove a 450 HP BMW auto tranny and only max a 280 HP manual. But the manual is still funnier to drive.

HBY?

Auto. Manual is only for car guys who might like the feeling but for normal driving auto is more convenient.

More convenient if you are bumper to bumper. But otherwise if traffic is not severe I like the manual more

you are in bed all day you don't know anything about driving you have no license
Where I live you can’t legally drive a manual if you did not pass your test and training in a manual.

You can but who does when you have one hand free at all times.

In practice driving a manual requires more work and therefore more focused on driving.

Only new drivers pay much attention to the shifting. It very quickly becomes muscle memory shifting gears.

I've only ever driven manual.

It’s a valuable skill to know
My uncle taught me when I was 14. I forgot though. Give me a couple days with one and some basic instruction and I could probably do it like I'been doing it my whole life.

I've only ever driven manual.
Every time i drive auto I always slam the brake with both feet when braking (because I assume the clutch pedal is there) and I brake hard as fuck.
Once got pulled over because I slammed the brake in front of a police car. My excuse was I couldn’t drive a Auto car lol.

Manual.

But if it's crowded and traffic then it's pain in the ass.

learned to drive with manual but will always prefer automatic. I dont want to be "busy" and it doesnt give you more control.
Sure a manual Miata and other tiny sports cars is fun as fuck, but anything else is cope and is Tough-guy compensation for small pee pee.

You want to be busy with what then when driving?

You have direct connection to the gearbox with your hand and that doesn’t give you control. Sure it does.

I think way over half of functioning cars have a manual transmission. All tough guys with tiny dicks

Tbh manual not only feels like you are more in control but it actually gives you more control. In auto your automatic transmission decides at which RPM to shift gear (usually at 3000 RPM so its more fuel economy but its less performance) and you cant change that. In manual you can shift whenever you want, usually for sporty quicker riding its better to shift at 5000-6000 RPM because at that RPM max horsepower is achieved and it pulls significantly better. example: You will achieve 0-30 MPH faster at 5000RPM than 3000RPM

I learned and drove manual for roughly a year before only ever driving automatic afterward. The only benefit of manual for me was being able to let off the gas while going downhill. Apparently manual causes less wear on the engine over time, if done properly. Going through traffic with manual will give restless leg syndrome...

Would have made that point too but most modern autos come with a mode where you can switch gears either on the stick or on the steering wheel.

But I agree nothing like maxing the revs on an old WW Golf

Yea and a manual transmission is much cheaper to fix if you fuck it up

Had many girls ask me to teach them to drive my manual car. Manual mogs just for attracting hoes and giving me easy pussy

I only drive once, it was manual
, and it's difficult to learn when to change gear, and worrying about bump start or gear jamming etc
I didn't understood why the car engine is making noice but not ACCERLATING

Everyone does at first. A little training and it becomes more fun and less of a irritation

Auto is better for commuting / daily driver but manual is better in other circumstances like a weekend drive.

Ideal is to have two cars, one for commuting to work (auto) and another that is not a shitbox (manual).

I have driven several MILLION km. I could shift with my left hand while kneeling on the seat with my back facing the wind shield. I still prefer auto because once you can shift blindly while being asleep it stops being fun.

A downshift in manual is always fun imo. Clutch pedal in, rev it, throw in 2nd, dump the clutch and pound the gas pedal.

It was fun when I was 18. I would do a burnout every time I started driving again after I stopped just because it was so much fun to be able to do it. But once you are 40 and have more than a million miles of car/motorbike experience driving just becomes a boring thing to do. You just do it to get from A to B at this time.

Not a problem if you know the bite point and time gas and brake release well

It's not difficult for me at all. I could start in third gear while driving uphill. It is just annoying and inconvenient.

Or you could ride the clutch. Taxi drivers used to do this all the time because it isn’t their car so they just sit on the bite point and give gas when it turns green
