I have seen some articles saying accutane negatively impacts bone metabolism, there are side effects in people too about joint pain back, pain. As a early 16yr old, I wouldn't risk my bones, I would rather live with my acne for few years rather than destroying my bone potential and height. Even AI says it definitely does and it's not a myth. If you guys know any other solutions, pls let me know, I don't have severe cystic acne, sometimes went mild, but rn just some nodules and closed comedones

Bullshit, if this guy takes 10-20 mg/day at 16!, nothing significant or visible is going to happen to his bones. The evidence we have shows that typical short acne courses at low or standard doses don’t cause meaningful bone density loss in (late) adolescents.

Chances are, his constant worrying and rumination about it (and his Acne) are probably doing more harm to his overall health (and maybe even his growth) than the Accutane itself.

If you can show me several studies where people his age, on that kind of dose and duration, actually had a significant reduction in bone mass compared to untreated teens, do so- I’d be surprised. The data just isn’t there for low-dose, short/ moderate-term use.

Do you know any other alternatives to accutane despite tretonin coz that takes a lot of time to actually heal and purging is brutal, same thing with accutane, do I really need accutane for some closed comedones, bumps and some nodules and papules

Just take accutane stop stressing about all this for literally most ppl they take it and forget about it and when there acne is gone they hop off it. The only reason u see ppl say shit about it online is because the ppl that it works for don't have the need to post about it online so u only see negatives. It only stunts growth in really high doses taken very young, 20mg a day even 60 which I done is fine
