Even if your own expectations of life are minimal, others' expectations of you will always remain at a certain level (e.g. those of your boss, colleagues, parents, government, landlord, tax office etc.). I detached myself completely from anything earthly. I barely care about anything. It's mostly decided by things out of your control anyway how far you make it in life and most things are either unobtainable or the same stuff over and over again. I still have way too high expectations though, this part of me is too deep anchored

(Good) parents provide you with food, money, shelter, guidance etc., so you're obliged to do something in return. Same with work, you must follow your boss' instructions if you want to get paid. This is an entitlement mindset, the idea that you can give to someone, without them requesting you to give you stuff, and feel they are obliged to them doing something in return, is a pure entitlement mindset.

Furthermore, if you are someone who doesn't want to work, but only does it to satisfy their parents, then your parents have failed you, because you should WANT to work for yourself, based on your experiences.

Same with work, you must follow your boss' instructions if you want to get paid.

Different than a parent, since it is voluntary if you choose to work.

Sex drive is at least 50% psychological. Mine has gone down considerably as I got older and more in touch with reality, to the point it has almost no impact on my life anymore
