Okay, We all know injecting bacteriostatic water on it self does nothing, Right? I mean that's what we get told, But people make the joke about it, Yknow, If you inject it, IT WILL ASCEND YOU!
OFC this is to trick gey's, But wait lets look into the science here.
Mechanism 1 - Benzyl Alcohol & Oxidative Stress (PMID: 2614886)
Published in a Japanese pharmacology journal the study looked at benzyl alcohol and its effect on neutrophil function.
What they found was benzyl alcohol directly inhibits NADPH oxidase. The enzyme neutrophils use to generate superoxide radicals.
Why does this matter?
Post injection your tissue goes through a localised inflammatory cascade. Neutrophils flood in and dump oxidative burst therefor the ROS environment is actively catabolic at the cellular level. It basically damages surrounding tissue and competes with anabolic signalling.
If benzyl alcohol is transiently blunting that oxidative burst locally... you could argue you're creating a marginally more anabolic microenvironment at the injection site.
If done correctly in spesific targed places where that does matter, By science it can cause actual bone growth due & fat loss to area being more anabolic.
Mechanism 2 - Injection Stress & Acute GH Pulse (PMID: 7816315)
Phyiscal stressors such as pain trigger hypothalamic GHRH release which drives a small acute GH pulse. This is documented in exercise and stress physiology literature. A needle penetrating tissue IS a physical stressor. Technically with every injection you do will cause a minor GH blip combined with the bac water causing inflammation and further cell damage.
Why does this matter?
GH hits hormone sensitive lipase in your fat cells and starts mobilising free fatty acids. GH hits the liver and IGF-1 production starts. Muscle protein synthesis goes up and collagen synthesis gets unregulated. Also joints tendons skin all getting a nudge.
Final result:
Combined with both mechanisms you're getting a GH pulse, IGF-1 cascade, lipolysis, muscle protein synthesis and collagen upregulation all while benzyl alcohol keeps the environment of injection anabolic.
