probably little animalistic, but once absorbed by skin shouldnt smell much, just like spf cream

btw the smell is more resembling to oily hair rather than meat.
Just like old hair gel made out of animal fat.
if it smells much,
use it as an overnight moisturizer, wash it off, and apply another moisturizer for the morning.

You can also stack it for full effectiveness.
Cause it is a balm you may put a normal face lotion moisturizer with vitamins, then the balm to "encapsulate it"
works very effective with hyaluronic acid under which needs alot of moisture,
