my mandible because I have class II malocclusion and is recessed so I notice it’s set far back but whenever I jut my jaw, I have more ramus visibility. I’m aware of the condylar torquing techniques during bsso aka widening and repositioning but is it possible to translate the condyles forward and downward to bring the jaw forward and to stop the bloated look caused by the recessed mandible? Or does bsso usually just stretch the midface and stops the bloated set back jaw look?

Impossible

You can see for yourself when you jut

yes cause jaw recession makes you kinda look bloated
Yup I agree

The thing with jutting however is the condyle shifts forward and downward in the condyles fossa. Are you proposing that bsso carries the same effect I cause when I jut eveb if the condyles aren’t moved down and forward?

When you jut it somewhat simulates a BSSO, your lower jaw is temporarily in a more forward position, which stretches more of your skin in that area, making your ramus more visible

It really is that simple
